July 21 marks the final leg of the Pilipinas Duathlon Series for 2019 at The Villages, Clark

Pampanga. For years, this series has served as a training ground for upcoming and current

duathletes and triathletes.

With races shuffling across various locations, this series is also one of the more accessible

races in the country. With sprint (5-20-5) and standard (10-40-5) distances, this race invites not only those who long for a good challenge but those who would like to dip their toes in the

world of duathlon for the first time.

For the final leg, thirty athletes from Team TriNics joined with four of them in the standard distance. Race briefing started on time at 6:00 AM followed by the gunstart for the standard category. There has been a short delay with the sprint start as the standard category leaders - composed of John Leerams Chicano, Robeno Javier, and Joey Delos Reyes to name a few- finished the first loop earlier than expected. Nevertheless, the sprint race started immediately after they passed by.

The weather was cloudy at most but humid at some parts making it a challenging one. Fortunately, no major incident was reported.

At the end of the race, eleven members of the Team finished on the podium from various age categories across the two race distances. For the sprint category, James Estrada (1st AC) clocked in the fastest overall time. Other Age Category podium finishers were:

Sprint cat: Jeric Angeles (3rd), James Luciano (3rd), Marc Centeno (3rd), Kayle Borlongan (2nd), Emmanuel Marquez (3rd), Dennis Puatu (3rd), Ruby San Diego (1st)

Standard cat: Gerald Asiado (3rd), Jeric Buhian (3rd), Jennifer Maula (3rd)

As always, the event was well-organized from the venue itself, parking space for athletes and spectators, to post-race meals. To the organizers and all finishers, congratulations!
